What is IPL?

IPL is a skin rejuvenation treatment that uses light energy to improve the look and feel of your skin. The team at ReJuv MedSpa use IPL to treat:

How does IPL work?

The laser light energy gently removes the top layer of your skin to reduce the appearance of lines, wrinkles, and age spots on your skin. The energy also slightly injures the skin to stimulate the production of collagen, an important protein that makes your skin strong and resilient, to rejuvenate and restore your skin to a more youthful appearance.

 

What can I expect during treatment?

To ease any discomfort during treatment, your aesthetic expert at ReJuv MedSpa may begin treatment with the application of a numbing agent to the treatment area. Once you’re prepped and ready in a relaxed position, your aesthetic specialist positions the laser and the pulsed energy is applied. You may feel some light tugging or stinging during treatment, which takes 20 to 30 minutes.

After treatment, you may experience some redness for a few days and then some peeling of your skin to reveal the younger, smoother skin underneath. You may notice a significant improvement after your first treatment, but the aesthetic team at ReJuv MedSpa recommend three to six IPL treatments set one month apart for best results.

To maintain your more youthful look, the team recommends you use sunblock daily.
