What can I expect during removal of my tattoo?

To ease any discomfort, your aesthetic expert may provide a topical anesthetic before starting treatment. Once you’re ready, the laser is placed over your tattoo and it sends heat energy to destroy the pigment. Treatment time varies depending on the size, age, and location of your tattoo.

After treatment, your aesthetic expert may apply an ice pack to ease pain and swelling, then apply an ointment to prevent infection, and cover the area with a bandage. While your skin is healing, you should apply sunblock or keep it covered for extra protection.

 

How many treatments do I need?

While the PicoSure laser is the best at removing unwanted tattoos, you may need a series of treatments to get the results you want. The number of treatments you need depends on the size and color of your tattoo. Darker colors, such as black and blue, respond quickly to laser treatment, while lighter colors such as yellow take more effort.

You may need as many as 12 laser treatment sessions set over several months to get the best results.

While the PicoSure laser can significantly fade your unwanted tattoo, it may not be able to completely get rid of all of the ink.
